CHAKRA THIRTHA There are many sacred thirthas in this kshetra. Among them, Chakra Thirtha takes precedence over others. It is said that Brahma washed the feet of Trivikrama when he measured the sky with sacred water from kamandal. The water that descended was collected in a pool and that is now called Chakra Thirtha. Another account emphasises the glory of this thirtha. When Devendra was cursed by Durvasa for his indifference, he regained his purva vaibhava and kingdom from asuras only after due prayers to Trivikrama sitting on this bank. And whoever baths on Chitra Pournami in this thirtha is entitled to the merit of the company of devas for ever. |
