Tiruppirudhi - Paramapurusha Mandir

Lying at the confluence of river Mandakini with Alakananda is the additional sanctity this Divya Desam enjoys, and so holds out special attraction for indispensable pilgrimage. The sthalapurana enshrines several episodes, like lord Maheswar's getting rid of Brahmahatyadosha; Kubera's doing penance, Balarama's image adored in a separate shrine besides beautiful mini-shrines for Satyanarayana, Narada and Garuda. This can be reached from several points such as Devaprayaga, Sivanandi and so on and so forth. Pilgrims bound for Badarinath fail not visiting this Divya Desam and undergo cheerfully any hardship to reach and adore this Lord Paramapurusha. He lives upto the connotation of His name and reveals in recumbent posture facing east. Ile Goddess is called Parimalavalli lhayar. Indira thirtha, Govardhan thirtha and Manasa saras are the holy temple tanks. The Vimana is called Govardhan Vimana. Agamic nithyanaimithika worship is offered elaborately to the Lord with due devotional fervor. Tirumangai Alwar journeyed to this Divya Desam and offered worship with his Pasuramala.

This is on the way to Badarinath from Devaprayaga, the famous pilgrim centre of Uttar Pradesh, accessible by State transport or Private buses.
