SAMARTHA RAMADAS

During his stay at Takali he attained siddhi or perfection in Gayatri mantra and repeated Ram Nam three-and-a-half crore
times. As a result of this tapas, Sri Rama appeared before him and blessed him.

From this time, he took on the name Ramadasa meaning servant of Rama, and went out into the world to preach sanatana dharma at taught by the sastras and as understood by him.Leaving Takali, Rama dasa went on pilgrimage to the holy spots of India; he bathed in the famous tirthas; worshipped at the holy shrines; met holy shrines and received their blessings.

At the same time he taught people to lead righteous lives and Cultivate the worship of a personal God.  During these travels, Ramadasa had the occasion to see for himself the appalling condition in which people lived; their indifference to religion; their petty jealousies and fear of the invader.
