SAMARTHA RAMADAS

Ramadasa's mother was ailing in Jambha. So he went there to attend on her in her last days.

In 1674 Shivaji was crowned king and the Chhatrapati stayed at Sajjangad with the saint for six weeks feeding the poor.

Ramadasa was nearing the end of his life. When Shivaji met him, the saint said so.

The saint had earlier arranged for the making of new bronze idols of Sri Rama, Lakshmana and Sita brought from Tanjore.

When they came, they were installed by the saint in 1681. Within a week of their installation, the saint attained maha- samadhi while in meditation on Magha VadyaNavami. He was seventy-three when he died.
