THE ASRAMAS |
|
There are many
Dharmas for Sanyasa. Normally, a Sanyasi must live in the forest, eating the minimum of
food in the shape of fruits, roots of plants and leaves.
If he goes out of the forest, he cannot stay more than a day in a village and five days in
a city.
He must beg for alms once in a day, just enough to keep alive.
During the rainy season, he can stay for four months at one place. This is for sparing the living things like frogs and worms that move
about from being trampled upon by him. |
