THE ASRAMAS |
|
This period is
called Chaturmasya. During this stay, Sanyasis contemplate on God.
Each of the Asramas, when lived well, is capable of taking one to God.
One cannot jump from the first to the last Asrama, because the mind would not have been
trained well. It is forbidden to go back to a previous Asrama.
Since the Grihastha is the main support of all the other Asramites, this Asrama is greatly
praised.
There have been many men who were Grihasthas and yet were God-men. King Janaka was one.
Even Sanyasis came to him to learn the truth about God. |
