PULLAVANESWARAM

The interesting story of Bhadragiri Raja who is also known as Nayadiyar, who attained moksha at Tiruvidamarudur, is as follows: -

Once he was standing on one side of this temple and Pattinathar on the other side. A beggar asked Pattinathar for alms. He
pointed to Nayadiyar saying that there was a family man on the other side, who might give some alms. The beggar approached
Nayadiyar, who also had nothing except the bowl and the dog.

This Nayadiyar had become a disciple of Pattinathar and relinquished all his possessions. He led a life just like Pattinathar, viz., not keeping anything for the morrow. Since Pattinathar referred to him as a family man, he realised that even to possess a dog and a begging bowl were marks of attachment.
