PULLAVANESWARAM |
|
He threw the
begging bowl on the dog, which instantaneously got moksham. As Nayadiyar had also become
ripe for moksham since he had no more of his possessions, he got salvation at
Tiruvidamarudur, a near-by place. But Pattinathar still had to visit many Sthalam,
up to Tiruvottiyur, where he attained salvation.
Another importance of the place is that there is an idol of Subrahmanya, recovered from
the sea. This image of Subrahmanya has four hands, holding on the right hand the original
Vel as it was recovered from the sea. On the other hand is Vajravel. On the third hand are
bow and arrow. In the fourth hand a flag and a devotee as pious offering has recently
placed Vel. |
