The
Adheenam has earmarked the income
of about 20 villages for conducting daily day and evening pujas to the deity.
There is a beautiful hundred-pillared
Mandapam on the Rock, world musical
performances and religious discourses are held. There is a temple cut out of the Rock by
Mahendra Varman, which contains sculptures beautifully carved out.
There is also another mandapam popularly known as
Mani Mandapam (bell mandapam) where there is a big bell weighing about 21/2 tons and
having a diameter of 4 feet at base. |
