UPPILIAPPAN KOIL

After the wedding ceremony, Vishnu ordered Viswakarma to erect this temple and started his life with Bhoomi Devi. The place is known as Akasanagaram, Tiruvinnagaram and Markandeya Kshetram, and the Vimana is known as Sutananda Vimana.

Many came and worshipped the Lord here and once Brahma after worship requested permission of the Lord to perform nine days festival in the month of Purattasi--one month prior to his (Vishnu's) marriage. Brahma again came to this place in Panguni along with all devas and as per the Vaikhanasa system hoisted the flag on Chittirai Star and the nine days festival ended with the car festival on the Tiruvona Star day when it would be an Ekadasi day, connected with the first arrival of Vishnu in the guise of an old man.
