VISHNU VARDHAN
He
was an illustrious Chalukya emperor of invincible domineering demeanour and
indomitable temper. With his infinite military prowess and adventurous
dare-devilry, he established absolute sovereignty
over both -south and north. As a ruler and conqueror, he had few peers and no
superiors. Regarding his personal life, his character and habits deserve neither
reverence nor public approbation. He was a victim to sensuality and led an
unbridled licentious life. He was a moral leper and srilola of very mean order.
Perhaps, he was a true replica of the rulers of his day, who were libertines and
led ignominious private life.
His perseverance and adamancy put to negative
policies a brought him indelible notoriety His hopeless unethical infatuation for
Vasavamba took up his precious life and made him a remorseless villain for the
world to look down upon .him eternally. In fine, he is a warning than an example
to mankind, though held imperial powers.
