UNIQUENESS
It
was this region that was consecrated by the dwelling Sri Rama in a
parnasala during his self exile, and the very same area desecrated
by the sinful visiting of that ten-headed demon abductor - Ravana,
who persuaded Mother Sita to cross Lakshmana Rekha to carrying her
away to Lankarajya, all but for his destruction; it is in this
locality, a great devotee Pokala Dhammakka obtained the much adored
image of Sri Rama, now receiving worship in the sanctum sanatorium;
it is this revenue division sanctified by the administration of
Kancharla Gopanna; it is this holy place visited by bhakta Kabir,
the far famed Muslim Saint-Poet to giving the honorific title 'Ramadasu'
on the Tahsildar Gopanna; it is this temple's presiding deity
adorning with the rare jewels made from the revenue collection of
Nizam; it is this archamurthi receiving the offerings of Pattuputtam
and akshatas right from the days of Tanisha, the Nawab of Nizam to
the present day democratically elected rulers; it is in this
picturesque primeval forest, Mother Sita found the Mayavi Maricha in
the form of golden deer resulting in her abduction; it is this
sacred zone that bears the testimony to Lakshmana's concern for
Mother Sita's safety in the form a line drawn before the hermitage
reverentially called "Lakshmana Rekha." Associated with
such several awe-some signficant incidents, partaken by devas and
manavas since the days of Tretayuga, this Mokshapuri is luring lacs
of devotees from the four corners of our sacred land, and is growing
in dasadisas due to concrete historical evidence that eulogises the
accounts of mythological antiquity.
