And it
was about to end in blood shed. To averting the catastrophe, Lord
Mahavishnu assumed the form of Jaganmohini an enchanting form that
mesmerises the on-lookers at its first sight itself, and convinced
the contesting parties that she would distribute it equally.
Captivated by her magnetic exterior, and honied words from the
interior, danavas riveting their eyes on her at once accepted.
Jahanmohini with her unusual dazzling exterior and graceful
movements aided and abetted by her side-long love-lore glances
manoeurved to pour amrit into the cupped hands of devas only, while
the danavas were satisfied in drinking in her ethereal charm with
their wide open eyes. When the glitter of intoxication wore off,
they started futile wars that landed them in a series of defeats and
shameful destruction. That is against such awe-some back -ground the
present incident took its origin. Accidentally Lord Siva was
acquainted with the unexceptional charms of Jaganmohini by Narada
once. Anon Lord Siva was on his toes and proceeded straight towards
Vaikunta to seeing for himself that enchanting beauty from the
self-same Lord. He met Sri Mahavishnu and expressed his intention.
Smiling at its oddity, He assured him of its reappearance shortly.
Satisfied, Siva was returning to Kailas with his retinue, when an
extraordinary sight gleamed into his sight - a tantalising beauty
absorbed in sports. The asadrisa lavanya of that Sundari enkindled
love in him. He stared and stared and stared, why gaped and gazed at
her ad infinitum.
