NARASIMHAVATARA KSHETRAS IN ANDHRA PRADESH

Kondurg - Narasimhaswamy Aalayam

Fantastic as it sounds that the original Mulavirat is found in a cave atop a hill, and its archamurti is worshipped down below in village small temple lying a mile off the hill. The story goes that the Mulavirat revealed His august form in a cave of big boulder. And demonstrated his lilas to the people living in the proximity of the hill by relieving them from the miseries wrought by Satanic forces in their, multifarious manifestations. Whenever people were caught in the makes of intractable problems affecting body and business, the Lord rescued them timely through offering solutions in their dreams and aerial voices. The recipients of His grace built a befitting temple down below the hill in their village and worshipped Him regularly with great zeal, as there are no steps or passage to the top to worship God in the Cave. But on important festival days, the priest and people ascend the hill and offer special prayer services to the Mulavirat responsible for the temple below.

The temple down below is adorned fittingly with a Vimana on the garbhagriha and an imposing tower on the entrance. Regular agamic worship is offered everyday as every call is answered sans delay.

This ancient temple lies in the village called Konadurg or Kondurg which is now enjoying the status of Mandalam headquarters town of Palamur district of A.P, having road transport facilities at all times.
