| Time passed and
ages elapsed. Once Narada, the ever-roaming messenger of the Devas, met them in the
jungle. The elephantsattacked and threatened Narada, but the all-knowing Narada by his
divine powers brought back the recollections of the past to the mind of the elephants. The
elephants, recollecting there past history, worshipped Narada and besought him to show
them the way to get rid of this curse. Narada
directed them to go to Darbharanyam on the Kaveri River and perchance if a particle of
water from
the Brahma Danda Teertham fell on their head, they would be redeemed from the Brahma Dosha
(insult to Brahmin in any form). |
