This
SARVAM SAKTI MAYAM, a mini-compendium of 300 Sakti Temples-Book Three of A
Quartet of 1116 Hindu Temples, adorning your hands now is released after about a
year and quarter of printing the Book. Four comprising 116 write-ups on temples
dedicated to Vinyaka, Surya and Kumaraswamy. The reason for the delay is not far
to seek. As explained in the earlier books, securing of source materials has
been posing unsolvable problems and created unending hardship right from the
beginning. Libraries worth the description are being visited; shelves ransacked;
titles perused; pages turned; material gleaned, yet the goal, like mirage seems
going farther and farther, as I essayed to move nearer and nearer towards it.
Even after months at it. The very same story is repeated for this also.
Disappointment not only stood glaring into eyes, but dried up all springs of
hope and stranded me in the mid-sea.
Though
there are thousands and thousands of temples scattered arises our Punya Bharat,
dedicated to Mother Goddesses in a wide variety of her manifestations and
multifarious names, it is a pity, that much literature is neither attempted nor
preserved for the benefit of posterity.
