INTRODUCTION

Visual pull is both instant and effective, as it exhilarates the whole being of beholders irrespective of age and mental maturity. I have added more than 50 plates selecting master pieces from the products of artists brush and sculptors chisel as well. In certain places mere pieces of stones rough and unhewn are installed and worshipped in lieu of the adorable sculptured diminishes, but fortunately photo prints are available in the market. Deeming this a blow from the blue, I printed a few. This applies particularly to the deities of Sapta mantrukas. In several places only flat stones are set up to represent them. Hope the readers appreciate my stand and selection.

I made a deliberated deviation of printing the plates of mula vigrahas in few cases along with their artists' superb creations; for the sculptors' ace crafts mashing does not appear prominently due to decorating the icons with metal pieces for eyes etc. I presume it is neither an offence nor irreverence shown. In the beginning I planned to print all the plates on art paper in rainbow colours but stopped abruptly. It does not reach the common reader. Already these are many complaints about the princing of books printed, especially the Quartet series.
