Second
one is the image of Lakshminarayanaswamy-the kshetrapalaka installed
by Sri Rama in the Tretayuga. Another object that lures the devotees
is the peepal and neem trees grown combined into one. And underneath
them the idols of Vishnu and Siva are found representing oneness
between them. It is believed that the barren women beget children,
if they make pradakshanams to it. So women in wet sarees are seen
going round during the morning hours. This sacred shrine abounding
in such spiritual wealth is particularly important to Andhras, since
it is the Northern boundary for the Trilinga desa with Kalahasti in
the South and Srisailam in the west. According to scriptural proof,
the region lying with in these three holy places was called Trilinga
desa and its people Telugus, so it commands honour. It has been held
in high esteem since yugas and will command as long as the Telugu
literature and language remain in use.
