Though
I have been doing my duty with all sincerity, I am blamed,
cursed..." Intervening, the Lord said, "No my dear Saturn
no, you have been doing your part marvelously well to the absolute
satisfaction of all in the cosmos. Grieve not at the thoughtless
comments made by the immature and ill developed. Be assured, this
spot publishes to the world that the All -Time-Highest too cannot
escape the Sanichara - period of ill-luck and the fruit of the
action Karmaphala will have to be borne and exceptions to this rule
are absolutely excepted. Take it from me, your in partiality, duty
conscience and sincerity in execution are exemplary and they will be
adored in all the ages. And this spot will be sanctified by a
temple, built and dedicated to you, and you alone to propagate your
glory". Patting Saturn, Lord Maheswar made a graceful exit with
flashes of joy emanating from his compassionate eyes. As this place
the little town Mandapalli thus sanctified by the visitation of the
celestials-Saturn and Maheswar, ardent devotees built a temple in
memory of the victory of Saturn and to perpetuate the monumental
truth expounded by Lord Maheswar. It is the only one of its kind
with that episode in the whole world and this uniqueness is making
it all the more sacred for the pious worshippers. The temple
declares to the world that fate is invincible and the Karmaphala
must be accepted with equanimity and then only bliss seeks and fills
the whole being. Though it is a very small shrine, the light it
emits exceeds the effulgence of sun and it defied description. A
visit is a MUST. Soulful adoration secures emancipation. Consolation
is the first benediction that awaits every visitation. Yet there is
another, legend, though differing in certain aspects of the
occurrence of the episode narrated is concurs with the central
message. This is also recorded in the puranas and sthalagnas narrate
it thus.
