SRISAILAM

PLACE OF INTINERARY INTEREST

THE SIKHARAM

Atop this highest peak of Sriparvatha lying at a distance of 6 km, there is a temple dedicated to Lord Siva, called by the name of Sikhareswaraswamy. The archumurthi is called Virasankara Linga. According to belief, viewing the Vimana of Mallikharjuna temple from this spot emancipates one from the vicious cycle of births and deaths. And from worldly cares too. Hence the craze. Moreover, the scriptural proof-"Srisaila Sikharam dristhva Punarjanma navidyate" involuntarily hastens the visitors to this indispensable worth-seeing point. There will be heavy rush here always.

SAKSHIGANAPATHI

It is situated 2.5 k.m. off the Main temple. The big size beautiful icon of Ganapathi according to tradition keeps regular accounts of the pilgrims' visit and submits the same to the Mallikarjunaswamy with scrupulous attention to every detail for granting relief and conferring boons in accordance with the merits of the prayers and the fitness of the benefactor. A visit worthy shrine! And a memorable experience too!! A miss not God at it!!!
