Unable to withstand the atrocities the sages prayed to Goddess Gowri. Pitying them, she created a powerful Goddess called Kausika and entrusted her with the task of protecting the Rishavatikas. She was a paragon of beauty, hypontising the onlookers with a single look. The fame of her bewitching beauty spread far and wide. Chanda Mundas - the preceptors of Sumbha Nisumbhas advised them to marry her. They at once set the proposal in motion - sent a message to accept them as spouses.
