CONTEMPLATION OF THE DIVINE GLORY

God in Creature

How eagerly cows come running back up hill and down dale to their calves after going grazing all day long. The Vedic rishis, seeing the gurgling rives bringing pure water from the mountains, think of the heavy uddered cows returning lowing to their calves. The rishi says to the river, "Oh Goddess, you who bring holy, sweet and clean water, you are like the cow bringing milk to her calf. As the cow will not stay in the forest, so you cannot stay in the mountains. You come running fast to meet your thirsty children."

"vaas hraa iva dhenavah syandamaanaah."

In the form of the loving cow, the Lord stands at our door.
