| They have made an alliance now with
gangsters and modern warlords like Mulayam Singh or Laloo Prasad
Yadav. To look at such a corrupt group as saviors from the evils of Brahminism, which at least was originally based on deep spiritual
values, is absurd. Leftist leaders use anti-Brahminism to distract
the lower classes from seeing what they are doing, which is
promoting social division in order to keep themselves in
power.
They make the lower classes dependent upon their leadership, blaming the Brahmins for problems that have other causes, while they take financial advantage of the country. They treat the lower classes like children and encourage a childish mentality, blaming their parents (the Brahmins), rather than encouraging efforts at raising society as a whole. Meanwhile with the advent of modern education, many Brahmins have given up their traditional occupations and become doctors, scientists or teachers, not by special patronage but because of the traditional educational values in Brahmin families that emphasize learning. In this regard we can cite the example of the Kashmiri Pandits, who are Brahmins, and have achieved many educational achievements in spite of suffering under a dominant Islamic culture and rule of their homeland with very little respite. Yet because of anti-Brahmin sentiments the Brahmins are leaving India and this is behind the "brain drain" that modern India has suffered from in recent years. |
