| THE DANGER OF HINDUS SPEAKING IN THE NAME OF OTHER RELIGIONS | |
| They
may be working to eliminate the Hindu religion from the world. The
first thing we note is that this point of view is largely confined
to Hindus. If it does penetrate into other religions, it occurs
mainly in isolated mystical groups outside mainstream movements,
which may be influenced by Hindu based teachings.
For example, Ishvara Allah Tere Nam, that Ishvara and Allah are both names of God, which many Hindus sing, would never be sung in the Delhi Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, or in any other mosques in India, which, following orthodox Islamic rules, consider that mixing the name of Allah with names of God from other religions, particularly idolaters like the Hindus, is heresy. Any major Christian church, much less the Pope would never say that Krishna is equal to Christ. In fact most Christians look upon Krishna as some immoral God, not as a spiritual being. While Hindus may proclaim that all religions are one, the fact is that Hinduism, Vedanta or Yoga are not acceptable to the great majority of the members of other religions, including their most well known leaders. If one were to try to teach Hinduism in the Vatican one would be thrown out. If one were to try to teach it in Mecca, Islamabad or Tehran, one would run the risk of being arrested or even killed. |
