NITYA NAIMITTIKA
PUJAS It is indeed
surprising that of all the temples in India, it is here alone there as many as
14 times the Lord is worshipped everyday with several elaborate rituals imbued
with sanctity. They begin with Nirmalya Visarjana seva at 4 am and end up with
Ekantaseva at 11 pm in the night. The pujas are - Nirmalya Visarjana, Ushahkala,
Akshaya Paatra, Gopuja, Panchamrutabhisheka, Udvartana, Kalasa, Thirtha,
Alankara, Avasara Kankadi, Mahachamaraseva, Ratri Mantapa and finally
Sayanotsava. The first ten pujas will be over by noon, and the remaining in
the evening. The finale is quite pleasing and eyeful, since the Lord kept in
golden cradle is rocked by the Pithadhipathi to the accompaniment of lullabies -
vocal and instrumental that lull the devotees too, but with the waving of arati
they must (cave tie hall, leaving the Balagopal in sleep.
