But
it had an adverse effect on the king. The king to his dismay used to
find his rice changed into worms, when taking food Not even a morsel
he tasted. When consulted with the wise men they advised him to
build Sivalayas for expiration of the sin of mass killing.
Accordingly, he then built 101 Sivalayas between Amaravathy and
Indrakiladri on the bank of Krishnaveni. Although many went out of
worship, and are sunk in the bowels of mother Earth, there is still
one getting adoration from the theist community.
That
is this Someswaralayam which was built by that illustrious ruler and
that received 30 acres of manyam too. It is believed that those who
take bath in the river Krishna and worship this august Sivalinga in
their wet clothes will be relieved of their sins. This belief is
bringing man bhaktas here, and sending them back home with relief.
Are God's ways comprehensible? This same ruler built
another temple called Rajarajeswari Alayam which is seen on the way
to Indrakiladri
Thus
speak the priests with long descriptions in their own medium,
charged with devotion.
