Completing penance Hanuman started his handed homeward, when he found Sita s jewel. He handed over it to Sri Rama and later with his assistance everything ended in victory to the divine brothers.

It is here Sita slipped her NAGA-jewel for identification, so this place came to be known as Sitanaga and it was called Sitanagar later. It was in 1911, a 8-foot icon of Hanuman was installed by one devotee, called Bommana Ankamma. Later a 4- storeyed tower came up and a flight of stair to river Krishna for the convenience of the pious to to be -born as to lift manavali from taking bath etc. Sanctified with the association of such divine personalities, this place slowly rose in importance as a visit worthy temple.
