Forthwith
he built two temples one for Balasubrahmanya called Dandayudhapani
by cutting out the giant sized boulder,in to cave and another for
Sri Valli Devasena sameta Subrahmanyaswam, just in front of the cave
temple: All in modest, yet grandiose proportions an;
beautifications with provision for Flag staff, Pradakshan, marqa,
niches for Parivaradevathas Navaqrahas etc And 18-5-1954 the deities
were installed with Agamic ritual: amidst
unprecedented fanfare. The functions were attended b y huge crowds.
Devotional activities were initiated and conducted with a rare zeal,
as its origin is imbued with mystery. Moreover near the Cave
temple, there in Ant-Hill-the natural abode of the cobra and is
worshipped by women folk with great ardour. And many devotees
witnessed the spectacle of that cobra risinq its head and receiving
the offerings of milk etc., So this kshetra
is blessed with the triple aspects of Lord Subrahmanya - he is
adored in his boy aspect - Sri Balasubrahmanyeswar; wedded form -
Sri Valli Devasena sametha Subrahmanya, and finally the Sarparupa -
cobra aspect. Combination of all these aspects are rare - rather
unique not found anywhere in India or abroad, say even in Tamil
Nadu, where one can come across Murugan shrines spattered all over
and at every step to be precise.
