SHRINES FAR-OFF, YET SUPERB

For tourists apart from theists, there are very many sacred shrines around Vijayawada that are drawing lakhs of devout people from time immemorial. Their antiquity and divinity are a source of perennial inspiration to the pure religionists owing to sublime associations they are blessed with. Legends are numerous, and the sports of the Principal celestials involved in them are curious. For the benefit of visitors coming from far-off regions to participate in the Pushkaram Festival, a few are given and it is believed that this birds eye view of their glory awaken adequate religiocity and takes them to the hallowed sannidhis invariably. All are ritualed within a radius of 80 kilometres.
