EPILOGUE  

Though this is widely current in this region, it is not entered the government records. Another! there is a story in circulation in the South Arcot district of Tamil Nadu specifically in the Vriddhachalam town area that a certain Englishman was blessed by the presiding deity with the fulfillment of his ardent desire. His dedication was so exemplary that people praised him lavishly. In token of his gratitude, he donated a long, heavy, sturdy iron chain to the temple for drawing the car in the streets during the annual festival - Rathotsavam. Indeed, it is out living him and the grateful public remembers him as long as it remains. 

What miracle inspired and how much solace he derived by his unflinching faith during then, the details are shrouded in mystery, but the fact of donation is still seen. Finally, one European Inspector General of Police serving a Muslim feudal lord in Telengana area of Andhra Pradesh undertook the onerous task of searching and appointing righteous, duty-minded priests to a holy temple on seeing the abuse of power of the high caste people in collision with selfish priests. He is remembered reverentially by the theist public, and this in fact gave a spur to the devout bhaktas to celebrate religious festivals with such fervour that was unheard of till then.
