Vijayawada
- Sri Venkateswara Chandramouliswaraswamy Aalayam
Yet,
this is another famous Venkateswara swamy Temple though emerged
recently, it has a sacrosanct background besides enjoying bounteous
blessings of the famous Pithadhipathis. It lies on the bank of
Bandar canal in Labbipet. Built by a pious philanthropist called
Soma Raju Anjaneya Pantulu with co-operation of devout bhaktas in
1964, in a modest way, it is now perching at an enviable place due
to the participation and blessings of H.H. Chandrasekhara Saraswati
of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. The archamurti of Sri Venkateswara and
Padmavathi were installed by Pujya Swamiji in 1964 with elaborate
ritualistic puja in accordance with agamas. So it became popular as
the seat of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. Later in 1968, the holy linga
of Chandramouleeswara was installed in the same campus with fanfare
due. Along with Sivalinga, the image of Satyanarayana swamy and
Navagrahas were installed then. On account of enshrining both
Sivalinga representing Saivism and Venkateswara swamy standing for
Vaishnavism, this is establishing the eternal truth that both are
one, and there is no difference of any kind at any time between
them. Hence great appeal and unending streams of devotees at all
times. Agamic worship respective to each deity is offered with
utmost devotional fervour; Annual festivals, like Vaikunta Eakadasi,
Godakalyanam, Arudradarsanotsav, Maha Sivaratri are celebrated on a
grand scale with due pomp and splendour that even the divinities
witness them in their ethereal bodies, says the priest, with
pardonable pride in all probability.
It
is a miss-not most visit-worthy temple in Labbipet of Vijayawada of
Andhra Pradesh, accessible by rickshaw from station.
