HOW THE RAMAYANA WAS BORN |
|
Narada then
briefly narrated the story of Rama to Valmiki.
Valmiki felt very happy to hear it and expressed his gratefulness to Narada.
Taking leave of Valmiki, Narada left.
Soon after, Valmiki, accompanied by his disciple, Bharadwaja, went to the river Tamasa to
bathe.
Reaching its bank, he noticed a clean spot and told his disciple, "Bharadwaja,
behold! How beautiful and clean is this spot! The placid waters of this river are as clam
as the mind of yogis. Child, put down the water-pot and give me my bark-cloth. I
shall bathe here." |
