HOW THE RAMAYANA WAS BORN |
|
Moved by pity,
words of anger spontaneously came out of the rishi. He said, "O fowler! Since you
wantonly killed the male of the couple, may you suffer for it!"
The next moment, the rishi felt embarrassed.
Said he to himself, "O, what have I done? Overcome by emotion at the plaintive cry of
the female bird, I gave expression to some harsh words"
The rishi remained thoughtful for a few moments.
Then he called his disciple and said "How strange, that what I said just now, out of
emotion, has turned out to be a perfect verse!" |
