HOW THE RAMAYANA WAS BORN |
|
Even those
incidents that Narada has not told you, will appear to you and nothing of what you sing
will be untrue. As long as the mountains and the oceans exist in the world, so long will
the story of Rama you write will be read. You will attain fame through it and live for a
long time."
After saying this, Brahma went away.
The sage and his disciples were wrapt in wonder at what they heard.
The disciples sang that verse again and again and felt thrilled by the experience.
Soon after, Valmiki composed the entire Ramayana in verses that have no parallel in the
whole history of Sanskrit poems. |
