| Atri, in the
meantime, came to know of the intention of Narada, by intuition, and pardoned him. He and
his wife Anasuya were happy at the reunion of the three Lords of the Universe and their
con sorts. All the people in the hermitage worshipped them. The Gods were pleased with
their prayers and gave them holy darsan. The
Trinity who were restored to, their old forms expressed great satisfaction and fulfilled
the desire of Atri to be born as his
children. The legend says that the Trinity was born as three sons namely, Chandra,
Dattatreya and Durvasa, to Atri and Anasuya. They also assumed the form of a Linga, which
represents the Trimurtis. The bottom of the Linga represents Brahma, the centre Vishnu and
the top Siva.
