The Goddesses
replied that they would even worship that lady if she could perform such a miracle. With
that promise from the God dresses, Narada appeared before Anasuya and requested her to fry
the gram-shaped iron pieces. When Anasuya was slightly upset at the impossibility of doing
so,she remembered the Padatirtha of her husband and at once she felt confident that she
could do it. Thereupon she brought the sacred water and sprinkling it on the iron pieces,
she uttered the name of her husband. Instantly the
iron was fried. Narada took leave of Anasuya, placed the fried iron grams before the
Goddesses, and requested them to taste them. The Goddesses found them soft and sweet find
thus Narada brought home to them that it was unwise to consider themselves supreme though
they were the proud devis of the Trinity.
