The opening of schools, colleges, orphanages,
hospitals, special institutions, augumenting pilgrim facilities by constructing
choultries, conducting humanitarian eye camps etc., patronizing arts and
artists, gifting of clothes, granting of scholarships, building of new shrines
speak volumes his matchless humanism and peerless theism. And his activities
encircled every facet of every tradition built up, maintained and continued with
ardour unequalled. As the adage goes that every institution is the lengthened
shadow of the individual, and in his case his shadow, to speak the truth has
grown to such gigantic stature, which that limitless, timeless. All powerful
Manjunathaswamy alone could guage. No wonder that several of his spectacular
achievements are richly and fittingly rewarded by the greatest institutions and
kingdoms as evidenced by conferring on him the much-coveted titles, like Dharma
Bhushan, Vaishnava Marthanda, Paropakara Dhurandhara, Samaja Ratna to mention
only a few. Of his highest, greatest and noblest acts, for which he will be
remembered for ages to come, the installation of the great statue of Mahabali on
the hill merits first mention. Its visual appeal and location have lent charm to
the surroundings and heightened the glory of Dharmasthala. The free-meal scheme
feeding thousands every day has become a model to several similar ones springing up in
the world. Dharma follows nobody, but every body follows it most willingly.
