MOOKAMBIKAI KOIL KOLLUR

It is at this place, the formidable Saktis-Brahmi, Vaishnavi, Sambhavi, Kumari, Indrani and Varahi supported by Bhadra, Veerabhadra and Gananatha waged a dreadful war against Mookasura; it is at this holy place the Omnipotent Saktiamsas of Brahma, Vishnu, maheswar, Muruga, Indra and Yama merged into the self - manifested Jyothirlinga at the request of the Trio; it is this place that proudly displays the vestiges of the sacred shrine built by the Trimurtis; it is here, just opposite the main, shrine lies the famous Agnithirtha, orginated and flowed down from the Homagunda of Atrimahrshi; it is the Kashaya thirtha of this place, deemed and used as panecea for all physical ailments; it is one among the few kshetras connected by a long long water way in addition to numerous bus routes, and finally it was the capital of Kamhasura built by Maya, the asura architect of great fame. And with many more such memorable episodes interwined with the lives of deva-dana-manavas, this mokshapuri is occupying a covetable place in the history of temples of our Punya Bharat.
