MOOKAMBIKAI KOIL KOLLUR

The sublimity of this place ringing with Saivaradhana went on unhindered until the advent of that dreadful Kamhasura, who swept off by the gorgeous beauty of colorful Nature in its pristine form visited this. Finding it quite fit for pleasant retirement, he, summoned Maya, the adept architect of asurakula for building a palace, unequalled in sculptural excellence and architectural grandeur. He did. Thereupon Kamhasura settled down permanently making it his capital and extend his asuraprabha over that entire area. It affected the serene tenor of several thousands of manavas and devas inhabiting it then. When his atrocities reached an unendurable stage, gods reaching the Trio en masse, prayed for immediate intervention. Moved by the heart-rending suffering perpetrated by Kamhasura on them, they created at once Tripura Bahiravi to destroy the demon. Seeing the approach of TRIPURA BHAIRAVI, the formidable Rudraswarupini, Kamhasura ran in panic to Rishya Mooka hills to do penance for the boon of immortality. Things returned to normalcy, and the worlds enjoyed their smooth on flow of life.
