ON
CONTENTMENT AND AMBITION |
|
Hence,
life attains perfection through ambition. Ambition in life in its multitudinous
sectors should pervade to protect it from the pernicious demons of 'Inertia' and
Passivity'. Ambition sets the ball of life in motion. Action springs form it and
begins rolling not on its wheels, but by that of the former. If once ambition
goes out of gear, or groove, danger pounces upon the owner. It must be carefully
harnessed, controlled and brought under the thumb always. As long as if sails on
the high seas of virtue, driven by the gentle breeze of 'justice', its safety is
ensured. The high seas, though turbulent permit it a smooth sail, as long as it
remains, indoors like a sweet sixteen. When once it peeps slowly and makes an
exit deliberately throwing the canons of decency to winds, the seas grow fierce
and swallow it without loss of time will not the fragrance of the sweet
sixteen get inhaled by the sundry, if she dares roaming about the thorough-fares
casting amorous glances at the on-lookers. Consequently, she falls, sere and
scent-lost. And she will be deemed fit then to reach the bottom of the dust-bin.
Hence, keeping restraints on it is of paramount importance.
