ON CONTENTMENT AND AMBITION

As ambition encompasses man in all fields, it covers both material and spiritual worlds. So it is all the more important to institute a periodical check up to set right its swollen parts for smooth functioning and safe sailing. For, this `stuff' has an unhealthy tendency to grow fast in all its dimensions. When it begins growing unchecked and unpruned, it assumes such a horrid shape and unmanageable size that it brings woe to the owner, for he loses hold upon it. Rather it holds him in its giant tight grip and sucks out his blood and sanity. This indeed is derogatory to one's position. Once should be ever cautious in shoring its fleece sooner then its appearance. Done this well, it confines itself to manageable limits. It is indeed a blessing. It elevates the owner to noble heights.

In fine, ambition is neither good nor bad intrinsically. It is a potent weapon. Its utility, or futility depends upon the master, and the way he tackles it. If he misuses it, if abuses him and spurns him into the Niagara Falls. If he puts it to right use, it enables him to touch the far end of the rainbow.
