Modest
ambition should be of every man's seeking , say, yearning. It brings its master
honour by elevating his position, secured through honest means and virtuous
conduct. When one achieves his object, and ambition, fulfilled, he feels his
heart overflowing with bliss. Tranquility seeks him then and contentment enters
to be stationed in his heart for ever. It remains with him as his comely
consort, feeding him on the milk of concord for his heavenward journey. Does he
require anything else? Is he inferior to the denizens of heaven, in any way?
Nay, he is more!
Now
comes contentment. It means satisfaction, in common parlance. It is not a
colourful word, nor does it embody weighty ingredients. It is a sublime word
standing for a covetable virtue. It is a divine virtue. So, it is simple,
modest, and decent. It draws its strength from simplicity. It can be equated
with devotion in this aspect. Though simple and noble
it is very hard to attain and extremely difficult to retain. It only beckons
people modestly to admit it into their ken and domain. Being frank, it publishes
its qualities out- right in an unambiguous terminology in the beginning itself.
