And these sublime places have been visited by innumerable luminaries and valorous rulers, globe-totters and mendicants of both east and west, since ages. The names like Hieun-Tsang, Guru Nanak,' Amar Das, Sankaracharya, Dayananda Saraswati, Lord Aukland, Dal-housie, Hardwick and Rappiers, besides a host of celebrities of all nationalities adorn the list of visitors who paid glowing tributes to the deities in prose and verse deserve reverent study.
