KARMA AND THE SCIENCE OF REBIRTH |
|
Any soul can
turn around and move to the truth. In fact, it is often the self-righteous who have the
most difficult time as in self-righteousness we lose the capacity to see our faults and
limitations and thereby are unable to grow. In
the Vedic system, there is no ultimate evil, only ignorance. Even the most evil person
operates out of a false or perverted sense of the good. We should not hate them.
They are merely a manifestation of the negative thoughts we
collectively project. What we need to do is to create an atmosphere of understanding in
life wherein the soul in children is not perverted by fear and desire. Then most negative
karma will not have a field in which it can grow.
The law of karma means that the other is also our self. Whatever we do to others we do to
ourselves. Our karmas are all linked as well, with collective as well as individual karma.
Even if we transcend our individual karma, we cannot change the collective karma or the
nature of the world. Each soul has to grow for itself and must be free to gain the
experiences it needs.
