She got up and
wondered at the divine blessings and started cooking for her husband. At the same time the
Lord appeared before Kalayar in the temple and bade him go home and take food, and then
disappeared. This command must have reminded Kalayar of the situation at home, in a flash.
But, as it was God's command, he returned home. He
was bewildered to see the God's blessings, which had filled his house. It so happened that
the Siva Linga installed at the Tiruppanandal temple had not been properly fixed. It was
leaning towards a side. The king of the country wanted to worship the Siva Linga. As the
Linga was slanting in position, he wanted to put it erect.
He employed elephants to pull the rope tied to the Linga. He
failed to set it right. Kungulinga Kalayar heard this news and went to the place. He
prayed before the Lord and put a rope round his own back binding it to the Shivalinga and,
with the mildest pull of love, the Linga. Stood erect. What the King could not do with
physical power, Kalayar was able to do by his dev6tion and love. |
