| " They all
went to Lord Siva. Seeing the presence of Brahma and Vishnu, Sakti also appeared hurriedly
as a child with her mates Lakshmi and Saraswati, to know the reason therefor. Siva
appeared with four hands and touched the body of Yama with his trident and brought back
life to the dead body. Yama got up as if from a slumber. This is a great grace shown to the world at the request of Brahma and
Vishnu and thereby preserving the Law of Nature. This is a rare mood of benediction, and
as such, Siva is called Anugrahamurti.
As Yama was vanquished for his indiscreet action and again brought back to life at the
request of the Devas, Siva is called Mrityumjaya-He who vanquished Death. |
