GURU DATTATREYA OF GANAGAPUR

 Shocks and surprises thrilled all kinds of people who established contacts with him, and none without exception went home without profited by his occult powers. Throughout his yatras, he preached and relived, enlightened and emancipated thousands and thousands till he attained his samadhi in 1458 AD. Through many of his beneficiaries turned great followers and started Mutts in several places to carry on the activities of the Dutt cult, Gangapur, Andumbar and Narsoba Wadi became great centres.And it is believed widely that Dattatreya was Nrisimha Saraswati - the third incarnation of Mahvishnu and the second was that of Dattatreya. And he is dwelling eternally in these three places. A visit to them and particularly Ganagapur confers merits and makes the earthly existence blusful. This Gangapur, the favorite resort of the Gurus was called by Gandharvapur and Gangabhavan in the Past and its pivotal role in the propagation of Dutt cult is immense and immitable.
