ENTERING
INTO THE BRINDAVAN
As
his end was approaching near, he asked Venkanna, the noble Diwan to
secure stones for Brindavan, and especially from one lying near
Madhavaram, rejecting the one made already. He explained to the
bewildered Diwan that the particular stone he selected was
consecreted by Sri Rama's taking rest on it for seven ghadias, and
because of that his Samadhi would receive prayers and offerings for
seven hundred years. It was implemented. Exactly on the same day of
his fixing, he entered the Samadhi amidst sorrowing disciples and
countless devotees with observance of all rituals and instructions
as dictated by him, like placing of 700 saligrams inside and
covering it with the stones made already. Though this venerable
Madhva Matacharya was given Sajiva Samadhi as desired by him some
three centuries back, he is still living and observing every devotee
visiting the sanctum sanctorum for emancipating them through
miracles. This sacred mission is gaining importance with passage of
time.
