BIRTH AND PARENTAGE

The story of his appearance on earth actually begins with the momentous decision taken by Srimannarayan in Vaikunta. With a view to establishing dharma in the world, getting drifted towards atheism Sri Mahavishnu resolved to send into the world Sankhakarn a, a devotee of great spiritual eminence attending to making of garlands for worship in Brahmaloka. On selecting him for the noble task, God ordained him to be born in the Kritayuga as prahalad, in the Tretayuga Bahlika in the Dwaparayuga, Vyasaraya and, Raghavendraswami in Kaliyuga to restoring moral order and guiding mankind to turn God-ward. Accordingly, Sankakarn a wan born in the Kritayuga as Prahlada, the Paramabhagavatho thama, who defying his father for raising the banner of 'Ahambrahmasmi' changed people, including the entire danavajati into god-intoxicated men. In the Dwaparayuga as Bahlika and was noted as god man. In his next birth as Vyasaraya, that same God's deputy was able to repel the onrush of Islam religion by guiding the Hindu Kingdom through the mighty rulers of Vijayanagara empire. In his third birth, he was born as Venkatanatha, the name of Sri Raghavendra Swami in his purvasram, when religious sectarian wrangles were leading the laymen into dark hovels and ushering in the innocent into ever confusing labyrinth of hair- splitting arguments.
