ON MOTHER AND MOTHERLAND

So, it is the country and its geographical features that shape man and mould his aspirations. Man partakes the nature of his country.

Significantly enough, the land that yields fruits and grains has a great effect on man's living and his way of life. Man's character is largely dependent upon the food he subsists upon. Each variety of food item has a distinct quality of its own and gives rise to a special faculty, characteristic to its contents. The major crop that the land yields determines the thought, outlook, character and approach of the people. Doesn't the dictum, "Diet determines the man" divulge this truth?

It is obvious that the motherland shapes your future and preserves the glorious heritage built up by your illustrious ancestors, who in turn were molded by her only.

Mother inspires noble ideals in you, and the motherland serves as the laboratory where you could demonstrate them. If mother is the seed, motherland is the soil, and you become the reaper of that most precious treasure of perpetual bliss. Both are necessary. You can leave neither, nor could you afford to forget either.

Hence the saying 'Mother and Motherland are greater than Heaven'.
